Flemingdon Community Food Bank

In October of 2016, the Flemingdon community food bank was facing closure, leaving families who rely on their support out in the cold.

When the Kamisa Charitable Foundation became aware of the situation and the plight that several committed individuals faced in saving this valuable and necessary service to the Flemingdon community of Toronto, the foundation responded.

Great strides were made to keep the doors open and catch up back rent for the food bank. An amenable Landlord and tireless daily efforts resulted in a re-birth of Flemingdon and a continuation of the daily support it provided local citizens.

Food donations have increased substantially as new sources pledge food donations. As well, the Daily Bread Food Bank has continued its overwhelming support of food donations. Ongoing support with Volunteers and donations continue to strengthen the Food Bank and grow the services offered to those in need.

However, inevitably need continues to grow and challenge the most vulnerable in the community. The Kamisa Charitable Foundation continues its support of this incredible, worthy, and grassroots organization. We are pleased to participate in ongoing fundraising and continue to further pledge our support.

We thank Sean and Michelle especially for their tireless commitment and leadership for the Flemingdon Food Bank.

We look forward to the continued support of this necessary service to the Flemingdon community and ask you to consider a monetary donation.
